Causey, Moore in #MS04 Democratic primary

By: Magnolia Tribune - May 29, 2014

Causey, Moore to face off in June 3 Democratic primary

On June 3, two candidates will face off to see who represents the Democratic Party in this year’s general election for the 4th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Appearing on the Democratic primary ballot are Ocean Springs’ Trish Causey, a grassroots activist, and Gulfport’s Matt Moore, who ran for the same seat in 2012.

Causey, a freelancer writer and performing artist, describes herself as “an outspoken advocate for human rights issues, particularly women’s rights.” She aspires to be the first woman to represent Mississippi in the U.S. Congress.

Moore, a sales/customer service professional in the automotive industry, has a Naval background and is a firm proponent of protecting veterans’ benefits as well as establishing free, top-notch medical services for life.

The winner of the Democratic primary will face the winner of the Republican primary along with independents Cindy Burleson and Ed Reich, Libertarian candidate Joey Robinson and Reform candidate Eli “Sarge” Jackson in the Nov. 4 general election.
