Republican Party chairman Joe Nosef calls US Rep. Bennie Thompson’s ‘Uncle Tom’ remarks troubling

Thompson defends radio remarks on CNN

Thompson defended those radio comments on CNN on Wednesday.

“I’ve been here a long time and seen a lot of issues here before the Congress. I’ve never seen the venom put forth on another candidate or president like I’ve seen with this president.” Thompson said.

The comments produced a strong reaction from Bryant and the chairman of the Mississippi Republican Party.

“You know people are desperate when they’re pulling out the race card, but when they do it in such a nuclear fashion like this, it’s beyond desperate and really troubling,” Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Joseph Nosef said.
