Leslie Lee, director of Mississippi’s Office of Indigent Appeals, may soon add another title to her job – state public defender.
Gov. Haley Barbour today announced her appointment to manage the newly created Office of the State Public Defender. Her appointment begins July 1. But appointment to the four-year term is subject to Senate confirmation.
“Leslie Lee has extensive criminal law experience in our state and understands the importance of this office in the legal system,” Barbour said in a news release. “She is an excellent choice to lead this consolidated agency.”
