Debt talk dominates Nunnelee town hall
TUPELO – About 100 people attended Tupelo’s first town hall meeting with U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee, R-Miss., amid tight security Tuesday at the Lee County Justice Center.
Armed sheriff’s deputies, some with dogs, patrolled the event and screened guests as they entered the building.
“We live in a new era,” Nunnelee told the crowd once the meeting began. “I’m not worried about myself, but I have moral obligation that every person who chooses to show up that this meeting deserves to feel safe.”
