Patterson announces Mayor’s Championship Series – MCS
Oxford, MS (November 11, 2009) – Mayor Patterson along with the Oxford Park Commission Board is delighted to announce the inaugural Mayor’s Championship Series. This will be the first post-season playoff and championship game for OPC Flag Football Program.
The games will be held at the FNC Park and proceeds from the game will go to benefit the Mayor’s Youth Council and their initiative to revitalize the dilapidated Riverhills Park on the east side of town. Admission for the event is $3 per person.
The game’s schedule is as follows:
Ages 6-7 (seeds will be announced Monday night Nov. 16th)
Tuesday November 17th:
1 seed vs. 4 seed 5:30- 6&7 ages Tannehill & Carmean Field
2 seed vs. 3 seed 5:30- 6&7 ages Calton & Associates Field
Thursday November 19th: Championship Games 6&7 ages Tannehill & Carmean Field
Ages 8-9 (seeds will be announced Monday night Nov. 16th)
Tuesday November 17th:
1 seed vs. 4 seed 5:30- 8&9 ages Mayo Eye Clinic Field
2 seed vs. 3 seed 5:30- 8&9 ages Oxford Bariatric/ Michael King, M.D. Field
Thursday November 19th: Championship Game 5:30 8&9 Mayo Eye Clinic Field
Ages 11-12
Tuesday November 17th:
Chiefs vs. Saints 5:30- Gilliland Ortho Field
Packers vs. Vikings 5:30- Tommy Tosh Field
Championship Game 6:45- Tommy Tosh Field
Following both championship games there will be an awards ceremony where Mayor Patterson will present the MCS trophy. The MCS trophy along with the team pictures will be prominently displayed in City Hall.
