Former state prosecutor Jeff Weill said he will tap into his mediation skills when he takes a seat this week on Jackson’s often polarized City Council.
In Tuesday’s special election to fill the Ward 1 seat vacated by Ben Allen, Weill beat out John Ditto, a real estate developer and son of former Mayor Kane Ditto; Lenard Jenkins, membership director at New Hope Baptist Church; and David Archie, a community activist and radio talk-show host. Weill, 50, was the first of the candidates to throw his hat in the ring after Allen resigned.
