Adams County Circuit Clerk M.L. “Binky” Vines and Jefferson County Circuit Clerk Burnell Harris are preparing for a run off in their respective counties that would put them one step closer to re-election, despite the fact they are both convicted felons.
It’s a fact that has many residents and officials shaking their heads.
As state auditor, it is Phil Bryant’s job to find public officials who might be taking advantage of their constituents. That’s exactly what his office did in the case of Vines, who embezzled over $228,000.
