
Today is Memorial Day, a time for all Americans to honor those who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces to protect our nation and the freedoms we enjoy.
Because of their valor, we live in the greatest nation the world has ever known.
Below is President Ronald Reagan’s remarks at the Memorial Day Ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery on May 31, 1982. Along with the former President’s unique sincere ability to honor the fallen, it is a stark and fitting reminder of where the world was 40 years ago and where we are now.
