Congressman Michael Guest Receives “True Blue Award”  from the Family Research Council

By: Sarah Ulmer - February 12, 2020

Award is based on 100% record on pro-life, pro-family and pro-religious freedom legislation

Today, Congressman Michael Guest’s campaign announced that he has received the “True Blue Award” from FRC Action which is the legislative affiliate of the Family Research Council.

The “True Blue Award” recognizes Congressman Guest for his 100% voting score on pro-life, pro-family and pro-religious freedom legislation in the First Session of the 116th Congress.

“I’m very honored to receive the True Blue Award from the Family Research Council as we work together on important issues to all families in Mississippi and our country,” said Congressman Michael Guest. “As a husband and a father, there’s nothing more important than fighting for pro-life, pro-family and pro-religious freedom policies, and I’ll continue working as hard as I can in Congress to represent our conservative, traditional values.”

Since 1992, FRC Action has served as an effectual, distinctly Christian voice in our nation’s capital. Being that voice involves alerting members of Congress to legislation affecting faith, family and freedom. More information about the FRC Action “True Blue Award” can be found by clicking here.

In his first term in Congress, Congressman Guest serves as a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In addition, Congressman Guest is the only first-term Republican member of Congress currently serving on the House Committee on Ethics which is an important committee charged with maintaining the integrity of the U.S. House of Representatives. He was appointed to this position by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.

Prior to being elected to Congress in 2018, Guest served for 11 years as District Attorney for Madison and Rankin Counties. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the Rankin County Bar Association. Congressman Guest is a longtime resident of Rankin County where he and his family are members of Brandon Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. His educational background includes being a graduate of Brandon High School, as well as earning an accounting degree from Mississippi State University and a law degree from the University of Mississippi. Congressman Guest is married to the former Haley Kennedy of Brandon. They have two sons, Kennedy and Patton.

The Republican primary election is on March 10, 2020, and the general election is on November 3, 2020. For more information about Michael Guest, please visit www.MichaelGuest.ms.
