Fresh off a big election result in Louisiana where Republicans substantially outperformed expectations, President Donald Trump “doubled down” today on his endorsement of Republican Lt. Governor Tate Reeves’ bid for the Mississippi governor’s seat. He offered his “complete and total endorsement”.
Mississippi, there is a VERY important election for Governor on November 5th. I need you to Get Out and Vote for our Great Republican nominee, @TateReeves. Tate is strong on Crime, tough on Illegal Immigration, and will protect your Second Amendment….

Reeves faces Democrat Attorney General Jim Hood in the general election on November 5th.
Both Tate Reeves and Phil Bryant responded on Twitter.
We need a governor who will stand with our President and work with him to get results for Mississippi. Jim Hood opposes President Trump at every turn—just like the rest of the Democrats. https://t.co/hqFR09vuXe

I couldn’t agree more, Mr. President. @tatereeves is going to make a great Governor. Let’s not forget his Democratic opponent voted for Hillary. https://t.co/1vppnygLDs
