Vicksburg Mayor and former longtime state legislator George Flaggs has decided to not to seek higher office.
Flaggs made his announcement on the Paul Gallo Show on SuperTalk Radio Monday morning.
“My spirit says I need to stay put and be the best mayor Vicksburg has ever had,” Flaggs told Gallo. “I will not seek anymore offices in the State of Mississippi.”
Flaggs said it was not decided if he would seek reelection as mayor as of yet.
He said he was contemplating running for Lt. Governor but he just doesn’t have it “in the spirit, in the gut to run statewide.” Flaggs said, “God never told him to” run.
