JPS takeover: Bryant offers more insight into ‘third option’
The governor has said often he would like to have an option other than complete state takeover or returning JPS to sole local control. During the Mississippi Economic Council’s annual Hobnob event at the Mississippi Coliseum, Bryant offered a bit more insight into his plans.
Bryant said he has talked with several organizations, including the Michigan-based Kellogg Foundation, Colorado-based Education Commission of the States and The Barksdale Reading Institute tied to philanthropist Jim Barksdale, to work on the plan.
