Spruill wins Starkville mayor’s race, Okolona police chief’s race too close to call
That came after a count of affidavit ballots Wednesday morning. There were more than 40 of those ballots, but only 17 were accepted.
In the end, Spruill won the Democratic primary runoff over attorney Johnny Moore by just seven votes.
The final tally is Spruill with 1,872 votes to Moore’s 1,865 votes.
Moore’s campaign says it wants to review some affidavit and absentee ballots.
