A couple of weeks ago, political hopeful State Senator Chris McDaniel published a “Conservative Priorities Survey” that was ostensibly done by and for the benefit of his state campaign account.
It asked some basic questions about the mood of the electorate and current DC office holders and cast some aspersions as to the current DC delegation by pointing out supposed F ratings by something called their “Liberty Score”.
The first version had McDaniel in full pose in front of a very prominent confederate emblem portion of the Mississippi flag.
But a few days ago, that changed for some reason or another. The new version stripped that graphic and replaced an outline of Mississippi with the word “Mississippi” overlayed onto the graphic. Thankfully, his graphic design folks cleared up any ambiguity that the outline of the state was in fact the state of Mississippi.
Then, a day or so ago, it changed again.
Same survey. Same link. Different graphics. And in the middle of all of this, his United Conservatives Group is running (starting on April 24) a petition calling for “saving the state flag”, while his future political apparatus seems to be minimizing his visual exposure to it.
These are the kind of unforced errors that plagued his last bid for higher office and some would argue cost him a US Senate seat. It could also dampen enthusiasm from out of state financial contributors.
