State Senator Tries to Revive Bill to Alter Flag
Democratic Sen. John Horhn of Jackson has filed a motion with the Senate Rules Committee to bring back Senate Bill 2147, which would redesign the state flag.
A motion to reconsider a dead bill has to pass the committee and then get two-thirds majority vote in both the Senate and House.
Rules Chairman Terry Burton says it’s unlikely. He says there are plenty of unresolved issues to discuss before the legislature considers reviving a dead bill.
