Bryant: 42 is ‘greatest power grab in state history’
The state’s top Republican leaders in a joint news conference called for voters next week to oppose the Initiative 42 school funding constitutional amendment.
A proponent of 42 called the GOP leaders “zombies” and said they should spend less time “attacking public education” and more helping children.
“Make no mistake about it,” Gov. Phil Bryant said Tuesday. “This proposal is the greatest transfer of political power in this state’s history.”
