Denver 9/11 forum turns into political debate
Thursday night’s event, which was moderated by Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball, also examined the “Race for the White House and its Impact on National Security.”
The 90-minute panel discussion featured Donna Brazile, author, columnist and television commentator; and Haley Barbour, former Mississippi governor and former chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association…
…Matthews suggested that “Hillary will get in if she looks vulnerable.”
Brazile noted that she “doesn’t see a path for Biden.”
“Is Bernie Sanders possible?” Matthews asked.
“Stranger things have happened,” Brazile responded to laughter from the crowd.
Matthews described Sanders as a “socialist.”
“You may not like the label, but you have to agree with some of the thoughts,” Brazile said.
Brazile stopped short of endorsing a Democratic candidate, but she said she believes Trump will be the Republican nomination.
Barbour did not agree.
“My position on this is: Trump is totally ludicrous,” Barbour said to some applause
