With HB 1476 passing the Mississippi House 117-0, how will Daily Journal, others spin it?

By: Magnolia Tribune - February 20, 2014

The Daily Journal posted an op-ed Thursday morning entitled “Mississippi can do better on school funding bills” specificially mentioning HB 1476. Essentially they were arguing for more money to be spent.

Now that the Mississippi House has passed the measure with 117 yeas, 0 nays, 1 present, 1 absent and 3 not voting, with no one, Democrat or Republican, offering any amendments to increase MAEP funding, you have to wonder what the Daily Journal will offer up next.

Apparently, everyone understands what Rep. Herb Frierson means when he says the money to “fully fund” is not there.

How will the Daily Journal, Democrats and other advocates spin this one? Guess we’ll see…
