Marcy says Democrats want a “wide open primary”

Mississippi Democratic candidate for US Senate Bill Marcy (D to R to D) took to his Facebook to say that the Mississippi Democratic Party is preparing to challenge his candidacy.

Marcy wrote, “A little birdie just called me and told me the Mississippi Democratic Party was going to challenge my candidacy. The word is, they want a ‘Wide Open Primary’ so they can put their hand picked favorite in the race without opposition.”

Former First District Congressman Travis Childers is the likely favorite for Democrats.

To that notion Marcy wrote, “The Democratic Party would rather have a ‘white democrat’ in the race who probably can’t win instead of having a new black democrat in the race that could win. And Democrats call Republicans racists.”
