Brian Eason’s The Buzz: Wicker feels the pressure, changes position
Remember a month ago when Mississippi Republican Sen. Roger Wicker was getting attacked by tea party groups for opposing the defund Obamacare movement?
It seems to have worked.
Wicker has now pledged to vote for a measure that defunds Obamacare, after repeatedly explaining to other conservatives why it wouldn’t work.
He announced his support via Twitter Friday morning, tweeting: “I will vote for the bipartisan House bill to fund the government and defund #Obamacare.”
Arguably, this is a pretty loose use of the term bipartisan; just two Democrats supported the measure, or 1 percent of all Democrats in the House. But I suppose I’ll let it slide.
