Ware v. DuPree trial resumes today
Court proceedings in Ware v. DuPree are scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. today at the Forrest County Courthouse.
On Friday, mayoral challenger Dave Ware’s team rested its case in the trial over Hattiesburg’s mayoral election.
Key to Ware’s challenge of the election results was testimony by election consultant Pete Perry, who said 375 of the 580 absentee ballots contained at least one mandatory violation that rendered them illegal.
Incumbent Mayor Johnny DuPree won the overall election by 37 votes.
