Busy Week Ahead For Mississippi Legislature

Monday begins what quite likely will be the busiest single week of the 2013 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature. In the House, 127 bills remain on the House “General” Calendar, and if these bills are not voted on by Thursday, they will be dead for the session. Bills voted on but held on a motion to reconsider will be dealt with Friday (or, in some cases, next Monday).

The House convenes at 2:00 p.m. Monday (a travel day for Members), and likely will convene at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. Members expect long hours on the floor each of these days as the House debates and votes on some of the most important legislation to be considered this session.

Rep. Greg Snowden
