Report – Kemper will raise residential rates by 61%

How much will the Kemper plant cost customers?

Mississippi Power Company has not released any updated information on how much its $2.88-billion Kemper County clean coal plant might impact customer electric bills. Mississippi Power serves 186,000 customers — including residential, commercial and industrial — in 23 Southeastern Mississippi counties.

The Bigger Pie Forum Board of Directors asked energy consulting firm Brubaker & Associates to estimate the customer impacts of Kemper.
