CL Editorial – Teacher competition works
Gov. Phil Bryant is pushing ahead with a recurring theme in his administration that could bode well for the state in coming years.
It’s a simple concept, one that has been at the heart of the economic system in the United States since its beginning but has never put down roots in certain areas of American life, specifically, government jobs and public education.
It’s competition – competition among state agencies for their piece of the budget pie and competition among educators for pay increases.
