Freshman lawmaker Charles Busby has first bill signing with governor

Freshman lawmaker Rep. Charles Busby said he is proud of his first bill signing with Gov. Phil Bryant. Senate bill 2223 made revisions to the New Home Warranty Act while Senate Bill 2533 revised licensure requirements for homebuilders and established liability requirements.

The Mississippi Home Builders Association requested both bills.Busby also said he is excited about the signing of House Bill 1410, written by Rep. Scott Delano, R-Biloxi. “Scott and I have been working on this and now it is law,” he said. “This will set the stage for reintroducing private insurers to the coast.”

The bill would require insurance companies to offer discounts on costly hurricane coverage in the five most southernmost counties.
