State-owned lands top 390K acres
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann says inventory shows the state owns 392,547 acres.
He says the inventory does not include Public Trust Tidelands or 16th Section school lands.
Hosemann announced the results of the inventory Monday.
Hosemann say the inventory will show how state-owned land is being used and what land is lying idle. Hosemann says each state agency was provided a list of known land under their jurisdiction.
