Hosemann: 16 Mississippi counties have more registered voters than residents of voting age
Sixteen of Mississippi’s 82 counties have more registered voters than they have residents who are old enough to vote.
That’s according to a new report from Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.
His office checked a statewide elections database for number of registered voters in each county, then compared that to the 2010 Census figures for the 18-and-older population.
The biggest discrepancy is in Humphreys County, which has 9,243 registered voters but only 6,673 residents who are 18 or older.
