Gulfport’s CAO being urged to run for Mayor
GULFPORT — John Kelly didn’t say, “Yes,” but he didn’t say, “No,” when Mayor George Schloegel suggested that Kelly, Gulfport’s chief administrative officer, would make an excellent mayor.
“I’m indebted to him for the rest of my life,” Schloegel said. “He’s done a great job for the city.”
Schloegel said he thinks the possibility is good that Kelly will be the city’s next mayor. Schloegel also said he hopes residents will embrace the idea.
