Jackson Postal workers press for funds
Postal workers in Jackson and Hattiesburg delivered their part of a nationwide plea to the public Tuesday to support a measure meant to prevent financial ruin for their employer without layoffs and closures.
U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson was among those who spoke at the rally organized at the union’s office on Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson by American Postal Workers Local 1207 to champion passage of U.S. House Resolution 1351.
In Hattiesburg, about 50 postal workers chimed “Save our Postal Service” in unison on the steps of the William M. Colmer Federal Building.
