Are Jim Hood and Dickie Scruggs et. al. still friends?

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 15, 2011

Attorney General Jim Hood sat down with the Hattiesburg American’s editorial board recently and discussed cybercrimes and his lawsuits against BP over the oil spill. There is also this little nugget:

Hood said he hopes his campaign for re-election doesn’t devolve into a mud-slinging contest.

“What happens in elections is that they start attacking you about campaign funds or something, or who your friends were,” Hood said, “instead of what you’ve done and what you want to do – and that’s what I want to run on.”

Notice the comment about his friends in the past tense. I suppose Hood has ended his friendship with imprisoned former attorney Dickie Scruggs. The two were once as thick as thieves when going after insurance companies during Katrina litigations.
