Polk vows to continue to challenge primary results

Gay Polk lost by about 90 votes in the Democratic primary in HD 73, and those results were formalized on Friday when the Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee ruled against Polk’s challenge to the certified results. As it stands, Brad Oberhousen has won the primary.

Polk has vowed to continue her fight. She said this will go to court and would like to see a revote in early October in one Terry precinct. This specific precinct, like many in the state, is an infamous split precinct and as we have seen in the past this can cause problems with voters getting the incorrect ballots. Here is a similar story from the 2007 general election between Adrienne Wooten and John Reeves where some residents received the wrong ballots.
