SOUTHAVEN — Former Northern District Transportation Commissioner candidate John Caldwell wants to make it clear — he is not running in the Aug. 2 Republican primary for the MDOT post and he is throwing his support behind incumbent MDOT Commissioner Mike Tagert.
“We reached the decision the first week in May,” Caldwell said, referring to his family and his staunch group of supporters. “I let my opponent (Tagert) know at that time, but I was leaving the country and I did not make it official until the first of June.”
