Claims process to go under Hood’s microscope
BILOXI — Attorney General Jim Hood said he’s going to Washington to inspect Gulf Coast Claims Facility documents and find out for himself if residents and businesses are being forced to take quick claims for damages from last year’s Gulf oil spill.
Hood said he hopes to meet Monday with Kenneth Feinberg, the GCCF administrator.
“We’re inking the agreement today,” Hood said Thursday at the Southern Gaming Summit, where he was a panelist at a discussion on the Gulf oil spill one year later. “Hopefully he can dissuade me from my idea that there’s been an attempt to get people to go with this quick pay.”
