2011 Voting initiatives to be delivered to state lawmakers
JACKSON, MS (WLOX) – Mississippians will be voting on three controversial issues later this year. And as required by law, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann will deliver the petitions to state lawmakers Tuesday, during their first day in session.
The first initiative deals with voter ID. Last year, 130,000 Mississippians signed a petition asking that the people of this state be allowed to vote on it. That vote will come in the November general election.
The second initiative deals with whether life begins at conception or at birth.
