New Faces In The Transportation Race

I mentioned these names in my listing on Friday of the current candidates for the three upcoming special elections, but wanted to write a little more about three recent additions to the Northern District Transportation Commissioner race.

John Caldwell: We have known of Caldwell’s intention to run for some time now, but he held his formal campaign kickoff on December 3 making stops in his native Desoto county along with a visit to Tupelo. In this non-partisan race, Caldwell is hoping to play up his Republican credentials using the familiar GOP theme of “taking back America.” Caldwell has also not been shy about his desire to see a new MDOT executive director.

Here is a profile of Caldwell from the Desoto county GOP’s website.

Ray Minor: Minor, the younger brother to former Transportation Commissioner Bill Minor, has announced his intentions to run for his brother’s old job. Here is a quote from Minor about his entrance in the race:

Majority in Miss.
