2011 Down Ballot Democratic Candidates
While races for governor and lieutenant governor naturally draw the most headlines, I wanted to look at possible candidates on the Democratic side for the six other statewide races that will be on the ballot in 2011.
The one obvious- and bright spot- in this equation is Jim Hood. He is running for re-election as Attorney General, and is certainly the favorite at this point to win a third term. For what will surely be one line of attack by whoever his Republican opponent is, here is a recent report by the American Tort Reform Association on attorneys general throughout the country. The report details the relationships between Hood and plaintiff attorneys (on page 12) related to the large state contracts that often go to top campaign donors.
