BCS won’t comment on allegations surrounding Auburn’s Cam Newton
The BCS already could be in for a storm of criticism should unbeaten TCU and/or Boise State be left out of the national championship game. It might have to deal with a worse scenario if Auburn makes the title game based on the final BCS standings,Newton is then declared ineligible and the NCAA or Southeastern Conference determines the Tigers used an ineligible player all season.
“Eligibility matters are handled by the institutions, the conferences and the NCAA, and are outside the purview of the BCS,” Hancock said.
