For three years in Ann Arbor, Rich Rodriguez has told the story of Glenville State, where he began his head-coaching career in earnest (after a brief season detour at Salem College before the program folded).
Glenville is where Rodriguez won enough to earn his way into a Division I coordinator spot, eventually leading to his current destination as Michigan’s head coach.
For Kelly, now in his first season at Notre Dame preparing to face Rodriguez’s Wolverines this afternoon in South Bend, Ind., it was a similar feeling.
