Brumfield – Hal Neilson hired one hacked off woman
Whoooooo-weeeee!! They say Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, or something like that.
I know one, and suspended Oxford FBI agent Hal Neilson has hired her to defend against criminal charges filed by the Northern Mississippi U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Christi Rena McCoy is Neilson’s new lawyer, and if sheer fury will get you an acquittal, I’d be putting my money on her.
McCoy, a Booneville native, was the sure-fire nominee to become Mississippi’s first female U.S. attorney through an Obama Administration appointment, assuming her Senate consideration went well.
But, so the word goes, out-going U.S. Attorney Jim Greenlee, a Republican appointment, somehow put the skids on that nomination.
As skiddish as the Obama Administration is about nomination controversy, all he may have had to say is, “This dog won’t hunt” and they’d freak out sufficiently to crush her chances.
Regardless, somebody laid some a story on them to end her hopes.
