Goodell Says Players Will See More Revenue Soon

Miami, FL, United States (AHN) – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that player salaries will increase despite owners seeking rollbacks from athletes. The funds would be used for infrastructure and to increase revenue streaming.

Goodell said during Sunday’s CBS Face the Nation that players needed to give back for the good of the game as it continues to grow.

This means new stadiums and international projects needed to be funded, as the league and ownership try to build more revenue.

“You have to invest in these stadiums that we’re in today,” Goodell said, who became commissioner in 2006. “You need to find new ways of creating revenue, whether it’s international or otherwise. And that takes investment. And we need to make sure that the owners have the capital to be able to do that. And then the pie grows, and everyone benefits.”
