He’s not jumping ship…Jimmy Clausen

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — It’s an old story about a seminal moment, but as Jimmy Clausen works out an assortment of literal and figurative aches this week, there is a good chance Notre Dame’s quarterback will revisit a memory just as stinging.
With family and friends anxiously gathered, every pick of the 2004 NFL draft passed without Clausen’s brother Casey hearing his name called. On the couch, a clinical determination took hold when older brother turned to younger brother and said, This is not going to happen to you. “That’s something that I’ll never forget until the day I die,” Clausen said in a recent sit-down with a handful of reporters.
