Franklin’s ‘O’ should fit right in with Stockstill at MTSU

Despite getting run out of town halfway through his first season as Auburn’s offensive coordinator, Tony Franklin still has at least one believer. Franklin will take over the offense for local product Rick Stockstill’s Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders in 2009. This time, however, he will reportedly have the appropriate personnel to execute his fast-paced spread system.

Tommy Tuberville, Auburn’s head coach at the time, hired Franklin away from Troy after the 2007 season in an obvious attempt to keep up with the Joneses (or maybe more appropriately, the Meyers). Who better to install a spread offense than the namesake of the “Tony Franklin System,” right?
