Warrs say charges worse than storm’s devastation
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says it is prosecuting a routine Katrina fraud case against Brent and Laura Warr, but that’s not how the Warrs see it.
“Contrary to the government’s comment, this is not a routine FEMA fraud case to Laura Warr or her children,” says a motion her attorney filed this week. “It is a threat to the family that grossly exceeds the devastation suffered from Hurricane Katrina.”
Mayor Brent Warr joined his wife’s motion Wednesday in response to the government’s request to set aside a recent decision in the case.
