Country music star Marty Stuart is at the Capitol today speaking out in support of legislation that would create a country music trail in Mississippi.
“It’s country music’s time,” Stuart said. “The world is waiting to come see us in Mississippi.”
Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant touted the accomplishments of Stuart, a Philadelphia native, and other Mississippians who have become famous in country music.
“Just like the Blues Trail, the Country Music Trail offers one more avenue for both in state and out of state tourists to learn about our musical heritage,” he said.
Bryant said Stuart would be Mississippi’s “country music ambassador.”
