Melton accused of witness tampering
A federal judge is expected to decide today whether to revoke Jackson Mayor Frank Melton’s bond after federal prosecutors say Melton served his own subpoena on a witness and possibly tampered with another.
Those revelations came Monday at the end of the first day of testimony in the federal civil rights violation trial of Melton and former Melton bodyguard Michael Recio.
Melton’s attorney, John Reeves, also said Melton personally served the subpoena.
