Georgia should hush Bama fans’ title talk
Scott Cochran, Alabama’s strength and conditioning coach, is getting a lot of air time in the state of Georgia.
Air time, newspaper time, bulletin board time, raised eyebrows from the Baptists.
Before Monday’s practice, Cochran described Georgia’s blackout – players wearing black jerseys and fans wearing anything they can find black – as a funeral the No. 3 Bulldogs will attend Saturday night in Athens against No. 8 Alabama.
Cochran’s point being, of course, that Georgia is going to its own funeral. We purposely omitted Cochran’s exact words, but video footage is easily found on the Internet.
Georgia coach Mark Richt, knowing a Lou Holtz motivational trick when he sees one, has made the video available in the team’s locker room.
It’s too bad Southern California and Ohio State couldn’t give us anything this entertaining on or off the field.
