Anderson pledges to lower rates as insurance commisisoner

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 10, 2007

The Sun Herald, 10/10/7

Gary Anderson said a background in banking and economic development, coupled with independence from the industry he would regulate, make him the best choice for Mississippi insurance commissioner.

In a recent meeting at the Sun Herald, Anderson, a Democrat, discussed his campaign against Republican opponent Mike Chaney, a state senator.

If elected, Anderson pledged to lower insurance rates through increased competition. He said Mississippi has many selling points to attract new business to the state.
