Ex-bodyguards to see raises totaling $42K

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 9, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger, 10/9/7

A former bodyguard of Jackson Mayor Frank Melton’s will receive an annual salary increase of more than $30,000 to become an assistant chief of police.

Melton’s other ex-bodyguard will get an $11,000-plus annual raise for being promoted to sergeant.

Deputy City Attorney Carrie Johnson said Melton appointed Recio and Wright into “interim” roles for 90 days. Melton said if they do not perform as he expects, he would remove them from the posts and reappoint.
