Anxiety was palpable in the courtroom of the Lincoln County-Brookhaven Government Complex Tuesday night as candidates waited expectantly for the final results of the runoff elections.
It was a “nail-biter” of an election, with just under 250 votes being the largest margin of victory in any of the races. Two races were determined by less than 40 votes in complete but unofficial results.
