Treasurer Tate Reeves kicks off College Savings Month at Trustmark Park

By: Magnolia Tribune - August 29, 2007

Treasurer Tate Reeves and his staff are teaming up with the Mississippi Braves and InTuition to improve awareness of college savings to families this month at Trustmark Park.

“It is an honor to be working with the Mississippi Braves and InTuition to encourage families in our state to plan now for their kid’s college education,” said Treasurer Reeves. “My goal is to stress the importance of a higher education to all Mississippi families, and this is a great opportunity for us to do just that.”

Families interested in an affordable college savings plan can stop by the College Savings Mississippi booth August 28th – September 2nd at Trustmark Park. On Sunday, September 2nd Treasurer Reeves and his staff will have a drawing where registered attendees will have the chance to win one year of college tuition courtesy of InTuition.

Recently, Governor Barbour proclaimed September as College Savings Month. College Savings Mississippi helps families prepare financially for college. The College Savings Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Program (MPACT) locks in college tuition at today’s pricing for the cost of tomorrow’s education regardless of future tuition increases.
